Training contribution agreement

Version: 2026-10-08-v1. Effective 8 October 2026. This agreement supplements the Terms of service between you and Amply LLC, 1110 N Virgil Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029, trading as GrantTune.

1. All scientist corrections qualify

A “Contribution” is a scientist correction you save in GrantTune: a corrected answer, scientific annotation, error correction, feedback, explanation or rationale entered through the service's scientific review and correction features. All such corrections qualify, whether or not they are scientifically approved or selected for a dataset. The relevant prompt, scientific notes, reviewed answer and context needed to understand the correction are included in the permission, to the extent you have authority to license them. No separate contribution button or training opt-in is required after you accept this agreement.

Ordinary draft or paper uploads, generation requests and unrelated workspace material do not become Contributions merely by being saved. Text saved in a correction or review field is covered, including revised grant text; keep restricted material out of those fields. Third-party papers, excerpts and externally generated answers require a separate valid use basis. Your permission cannot grant rights you do not hold.

2. Ownership and authority

You or the relevant rights holder retain ownership. You confirm that you have authority to permit the uses below, including any necessary employer, institution, collaborator or sponsor approval. Workspace membership, Admin status and scientific expertise do not establish ownership or institutional authority.

Do not save corrections containing patient-identifying information, sensitive personal information, credentials or material whose confidentiality or other restrictions conflict with shared-model improvement. This includes unpublished results, grant strategy and peer-review material where you lack the required permission. If necessary, express the correction in general terms without restricted context. We may reject or limit use where rights or suitability are uncertain.

3. Rights granted

You grant Amply LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license, subject to mandatory law and any written exception we agree, to reproduce, select, clean, annotate, adapt and combine Contributions to develop, train, fine-tune, validate, evaluate and improve scientific and grant-writing models and the GrantTune service. We may create internal datasets and retain appropriate provenance and permission evidence.

Improved models may serve other customers and support commercial GrantTune services. You may continue using and licensing your own material elsewhere. Contributing does not entitle you to royalties, compensation or ownership in our models. Different payment or credit arrangements require a separate agreement.

We may authorize contracted providers to process Contributions on our behalf for these purposes under appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions. This is not permission for providers to use Contributions to train their own general models. We must check the relevant arrangement before transferring Contributions.

4. Limits on disclosure

The license permits ongoing training and operating improved models. It does not permit publishing your nonpublic source text, selling Contribution datasets, using a lab's name or content in marketing, or publicly releasing weights or adapters trained on your Contributions. Those activities require separate permission and a rights review. We may report aggregate findings without disclosing identifiable or confidential Contribution content.

We keep account and contact identifiers separate from training text and review Contributions for sensitive content and rights issues before use. Removing names does not guarantee anonymity or eliminate the risk that a model reproduces text. Contact us promptly about suspected disclosure or unauthorized use so we can assess remedies. Public attribution or endorsement requires separate permission.

5. Role, expertise and scientific selection

We record your self-described scientific role and areas of expertise with your contribution provenance. We may use these signals to understand a correction's context and prioritize expert review. They are not independently verified credentials, evidence of institutional permission, or proof that a correction is scientifically correct. Account email and Google profile information are not training examples.

Permission to use all corrections is separate from selection for actual training. Scientific review, source-use screening, dataset assignment and operational authorization remain required as appropriate. Material held out for evaluation is not trained on under that assignment. Acceptance never automatically starts a training run.

6. Continuing permission and lab exceptions

The license continues for future training and evaluation and survives account closure, membership removal and deletion of a workspace display record, subject to applicable law. There is no contractual right to withdraw a Contribution from future training or require model unlearning simply by making a request or closing an account. Deleting a source record does not reliably remove its influence from model weights.

A lab may raise concerns at hello@granttune.com. Amply LLC may agree, where business appropriate, to a specific exception or different arrangement. An exception takes effect only when confirmed in writing and identifies the lab or workspace, covered records and versions, permitted uses, effective date, and treatment of prior and future material. An exception request by itself does not suspend existing permission. We will record agreed exceptions and respect their scope.

These provisions do not override statutory privacy rights, required license termination rights, court orders, confidentiality duties or remedies for unauthorized use. If such duties require action, we will assess and take the legally required steps, which may include restricting datasets or affected models. We do not promise technically immediate unlearning.

7. Versions and other rights

We retain the accepted agreement version and contribution provenance. We will not silently expand rights for earlier material through a later policy change. Any use outside the accepted scope requires the necessary additional permission or another valid basis.

This content license is distinct from consent or another lawful basis for personal-data processing. Privacy rights remain unaffected. The agreement does not transfer ownership of discoveries or grant a patent license. Rights in third-party literature and any required institutional or patent permission remain separate.
